We made sugar cookies with the children after reading the book "Mmm Cookies!" by Robert Munsch. For this cooking activity we used frozen cookie dough (we didn't make our own cookie dough this time). We let the children rolling pins to flatten the dough. Next, they used people shaped cookie cutters to cut out the cookie dough. After adding some Skittles for eyes, nose, and buttons, we popped them into the oven and ate them later in the day for snack.

We fried fish with the children on this day. First the kids cracked open an egg and used a wisk to beat it. Next they dipped a fish filet in the egg. They put the fish inside a ziploc bag filled with bread crumbs, and then shook it up. Next we fried the fish in an electric skillet and then ate it. It was YUMMY!

We made Stained Glass Window Cookies for our cooking activity this week. First the children smashed up pieces of colorful hard candy. Next the children rolled out cookie dough and used a large circle cookie cutter to cut out their cookie. Next they used a smaller circle cookie cutter to make a hole in the center of their cookie. Finally the kids placed the broken pieces of hard candy in the center of their cookie. After cooking the kids got a soft cookie with a hard candy center.
